H&M Haul

By L.B

If you live in Melbourne you will definitely know by now H&M has officially opened its doors at the GPO on Bourke st! This store opening has been highly anticipated and talked about for a while now. There wasn't a day you would walk around the city and spot H&M banners advertising its "opening soon"

G.K is from France so she has grown up shopping at H&M but for the rest of us we only had the opportunity of doing so when visiting overseas. This store is like no other H&M store we have visited. The layout, architecture of the building and interior design has exceeded expectations. Every little corner there is a little trend hub perfectly placed and easy to shop. The store is absolutely beautiful we are in love with the way the GPO has been transformed. We were upset to see some of our favourite stores that were perviously there have to close down but they are being relocated. There is three levels, two levels of women's wear and one level of mens/kids/home wear. It's been a surprise to also find out that H&M hasn't adjusted their prices. Generally when an overseas company makes it way to Australia the price mark up is noticeable.

You will expect to wait in line to enter. Every time I have walked past there is a line to get in but quick tip is to try and shop there about 1 hour before close, there is no line so you can walk straight in and 1 hour is more than enough time to shop inside!

Myself and G.K were on a budget so we tried to only spend the bare minimum but there was definitely so many more items we would have bought. We thoroughly went through each department (even kids wear) checked every single rack, nook, fixture and isle there was in store to make sure we saw everything. My personal favourite piece I picked up was the black wide brimmed hat that was an Australian Exclusive. Made from 100% wool and only $19.95! The brim is also bendable so you can adjust it to however you like. G.k's was the 5 pack of socks for $9.95! thats roughly $2 a pair which is a great price for socks that last for a significant amount of time.

If you have been to H&M at the GPO what was your experience like?

DIY Lip Scrub.

By G.K.

Hello lovelies ! Today I'm going to show you how to do your own lip scrub. It might not be the perfect way but that's the recipe I really like to use.
There's many ingredients in your kitchen that you can use to create your own beauty products, you can make your own face mask, body scrub, cleanser etc... without spending too much money. We will start with the DIY Lip Scrub but don't worry we have many more DIY tips to share with you in the future.

For this DIY Lip Scrub you will need:

- Brown Sugar
- Salt
- Olive Oil
- Strawberry Essence (optional)

It's super easy so let's get started !

Step One, Brown Sugar !

Poor one teaspoon of brown sugar into a small recipient. I'm not going to do it in a big quantity, just enough for a few applications. No waste !
This is the main ingredient to exfoliate your lips, it's going to help to remove the dead skin.

Step Two, Salt !
Add 1/4 teaspoon into the brown sugar, it is also going to help to exfoliate your lips and to heal them faster.

Step Three, Olive Oil !
Add 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil into the mix. Olive Oil is a good moisturizer, it will leave your lips smooth and soft. (You can apply ONLY Olive Oil on your lips if they are really chapped and leave it overnight)

Step Four, Strawberry Essence :
Add 1/4 teaspoon of strawberry flavouring essence. I chose strawberry essence because I made another Lip Scrub couple weeks ago with Vanilla essence but you can choose any flavour you'd like. It's also optional, I mean you do not need to add any flavour, everyone has their own preference !

Step Five, Mix It Up :
Mix everything together with whatever you want, I had a chopstick next to me so that did the job. Make sure all ingredients are well mixed together.

AND....

You can put your lip scrub into a small container to bring with you or leave next to your sink to scrub morning and night !
I scrub my lips in the morning before applying lipstick on, especially if it's a matte one. I scrub during the day as well and at night before applying a lip balm.

Please share your DIY recipes in the comment section, we would love to read what you guys use at home :)

Blooming Beauties.

By L.B

There are always two types of blush styles you will need. The perfect matte shade and the perfect shimmer/frost shade. Once you find these two perfect shades they will never leave your makeup bag. My two favourites I have used for years include NARS Amour (matte) and M.A.C Margin (frost)

Amour gives off a very strong pink colour, its highly pigmented and a little definitely goes a long way. You will have this blush for ages! I love this colour in particular because it gives your makeup look a very refreshed feel.

Margin is a more subtle colour. It has a golden peach undertone and gives off the perfect glow on your cheeks. I like to use this blush colour with my everyday makeup routine. M.A.C blushes for me seem to always take forever to run out. They have a lot more product in them compared to other higher end make up blushes and they are definitely worth it!

Lush Ultrabland.

By G.K.

I really wanted to try a cleanser balm so I went to my favorite store to see if they had one. I have been showed the Ultrabland Facial Cleanser so I grabbed that one excited to get home and remove my makeup!
It has a pretty light smell compared to other Lush products that relaxes you and get's your mind ready to rest.

It says to put a generous amount all over your face but I find it really effective to put a thin layer on. The main ingredient is almond oil so the consistency is thick, creamy.
I love how you can see it working on your skin, it melts your makeup in seconds, I also apply it on my lashes (I don't think you're supposed to ...) I have very sensitive skin and eyes but I didn't have any trouble.

Leave it on for a minute and wipe it off with a damp cloth. My skin felt so radiant! It's meant to be great for people with skin problems, they recommend to only use that product for a while if you're having issues with your skin and it should bring it back into balance.
I actually think I like using this over a normal makeup remover, I still use Bioderma on my eyes after it.

I have oily skin so do not be scared to use it if you do as well!
I absolutely love this product and removing my makeup in such a gentle way.
