Topshop Makeup Haul

Topshop had a bit of a great sale with their makeup recently. We bought a few things to test them out so this review is a mini haul of topshop makeup!

Their makeup range is really affordable and amazing quality. Their products are all made in Europe so you know its being adhered to strict standards and we believe their makeup is just as good if not better than more expensive makeup brands we love.

We bought a few brushes that are all made out of synthetic hair. They are really soft and great brushes if you need something affordable. 

We also picked up a nail art dotting tool which we are really excited to try out on some future nail art posts :)

I have read so many great reviews about the Topshop Long Lash mascara so I thought I would give it a go ! 

I'm all about plastic brushes, you can really work the product on your lashes without clumps.

It reminds me of the L'Oréal Butterfly Effect, Maybelline One By One, Covergirl Clump Crusher, it separates the lashes perfectly, add length and volume. I really recommend this mascara, it's better than any of my drugstore mascara.

This gel liner reminds me exactly of the M.A.C Gel liner. The consistency of the product is very similar as well as the fact when this liner is applied it won't budge. I actually had this liner on for a couple days because just washing my face with cleanser and not having any eye makeup remover, it wasn't easy to get rid of. If you are looking for a liner that is more waterproof and don't want to smudge, definitely invest in a gel liner. Applied with the "Liner" brush (also bought at topshop) it gives the perfect winged eye to your makeup look.

The Dammed is a great purple shade that can be worn day or night and very easy to match with any outfit. It is a great creamy consistency that is almost in between a matte and a gloss lipstick. Really easy to apply with a rich colour payoff. If you are looking for a type of lipstick with a bit more of a POP but not too pricey definitely check out the Topshop Lips rage. There is so many amazing colours to choose from, you wont be disappointed.

I love the Brighten Pen, the formula is light which is perfect as I am applying it in a triangle shape under the eyes. You don't want a thick and creamy formula, it would be too cakey. 

They had only one shade "moonlight" which is not a high coverage so it suits a lot of people. You can always go back very lightly with your foundation brush to add a bit of colour. 

I use it everyday on top of my concealer, extends it where I'd put highlighter and back next to my nose. 

It really makes a difference and illuminates my face.

MAC - Sounds Like Noise

That was a very easy purchase for me. I adore orange, matte lips and Paramore. It was also very hard to find as I currently live in Australia, I waited couple months to see if it would arrive down here but it did not so I just purchased it on the internet.

The collection has been released around April last year, if I remember correctly. Mac teamed up with Hayley Williams, singer of Paramore, known also for her orange hair.
It is a four-piece collection:

-Daydreaming frosted eyeshadow
-Lightscapade shimmer mineralized finish

I was interested into buying the nail lacquer, I have actually never tried MAC nail polishes but it was a bit pricey so I decided to pick up a bright orange colour at the drugstore instead and get the lipstick.

The color is absolutely amazing, unfortunately, it doesn't matter how moisturized my lips are, it dries them instantly, it is very very hard to wear. I tried everything and the only way for me to wear it is to apply it with my finger or a brush super lightly. I mix it sometimes with other orange lipsticks I have and I love it.
I know orange is not loved by many but I only go for red or orange on my lips. Sounds Like Noise is the perfect shade and matte finish to me !

The Iridescent Manicure

Ciate is notorious for creating amazing nail polishes that give your manicure a bit more of an individual feeling.

I purchased an interesting top coat from Ciate called "halo" and teamed up with a pastel shade (preferably your cooler colours like white, grey and purple) it gives a great iridescent effect. 

Step 1:

Paint your nails with your preferred pastel shade! We did apply black because it makes the top coat really stand out. Also included is the names of the colours used.

Step 2:

Once your polish has dried add two coats of Ciate "halo" as a top coat and watch it dry. Now move your hands in the light and watch the beauty of the iridescence from the top coat be revealed :)

Drinking green tea is a staple in my diet. I drink this stuff round the clock so when I was given the opportunity to try a product from babe scrub I was thrilled at the idea of their green tea scrub!

As I read into the product it was the perfect scrub for me to try because it is deigned to heal your skin as well as detox it. It works well with wrinkles, acne scars and redness.
I have lived with acne and acne scars for the past 7 years so any product I can find to help my skin I will definitely try.

The scrub is nothing like I've tried before so I had to follow the instructions and basically after you've drenched your body in water you start to rub the scrub all over your body. You notice as the scrub hits moisture the  almond oil and organic sugar starts to form a glaze. This scrub is a wash off as you go product so you don't need to leave it on for a certain amount of time.

When applied to the face I made sure to be gentle as not rub it in too harshly and left it on for a minute. You notice when you wash the product off how soft, hydrated and woken up your skin is. It's amazingly soft and feels toned.

I was surprised at how great my skin felt  and  you also don't need to use the whole bag at once so there is product left over to use in the future.

I'm going to continue to use this green tea scrub on my acne scars to see if over time they start to fade away.

I love a good scrub, the rough ones that clean your skin deeply, that is why I chose the coffee one. Made from virgin ingredients, which means the coffee hasn't been processed.

I have very sensitive skin especially on my face but it did not irritate my skin and left it so smooth and silky, thanks to the essential oils !

The main thing that attracted me to the scrub N°2 is that it claims to help with cellulite, lumps, bumps and stretch marks. 

I am a woman, I have cellulite and cellulite loves me so damn much, it doesn't want to leave my body. I have a lot of stretch marks as well but the coffee really smooth everything down. 

I will repurchase that for sure, thanks Babescrub !

I tried out the Pink Salt scrub as I've always found scrubs with Himalayan Pink Salts in them to be incredible on my skin and to exfoliate before a tan but this one is quite easily the best scrub I've used as my skin was left feeling super soft and smelling amazing !

The essential oils/organic sugars in the scrub give it such a beautiful and relaxing smell and with the addition of the almond oil it leaves your skin so soft and moisturized that there is no need for a moisturizer!

The best part of this scrub for me is that it's not only a scrub but it's a bath soak too ! 

After a work out or even a big day at work, pour the Pink Salt into a hot bath and soak for 30 minutes to relax all those sore muscles !

Liv's Tanning Routine

For anyone that lives in Melbourne understands that we don't get much sun at all and for us girls who love having a tan it gets really depressing.

I've tried many fake tans and always looked orange and/or streaky but I have found the most amazing brand that has never done either to me, Le Tan !

I'm going to go through my three fake tan steps that have always worked like a charm.

1. you've got to make sure your skin is soft and clean, so In the shower shaving and exfoliating is a must ! I exfoliate with a random brand I picked up at a bridal expo called 'Barefoot Body Balm' I chose the Cedarwood and Lime for the incredible smell ! Ingredients include Himalayan Rock Sals, Sweet Almond Virgin Oil and Certified Organic Macadamia Oil.  It literally makes my skin shine and it's the best way to prepare for a tan ! Visit their website http://barefootbodybalms.com to find what market they are at if you are in Melbourne ! (Unfortunately they don't do online orders) for the small tub it was $30 and it's lasted me months !

2. Once you're silky smooth it's time to get started on the tan ! I use Le Tans 'Fast Tan'  You can find Le Tan products at Priceline, Chemists, Kmart, Supermarkets and Big W for $13 or shop online http://www.letan.com.au . It comes in bronze and dark bronze, I'm yet to try the dark bronze but the bronze I use is still pretty dark. Make sure you spread it around evenly and let it dry before using the spray on !

3. The last step and easiest Is the famous 'Le Tan in Le can' simply spray the tan over your body and it dries instantly. It gradually gets darker so you wake up with the most amazing glow! Le Tan in Le Can is found in the same shops as I said in step 2 and for the 150G it's $15.50 .

I often get asked what I do/use for my tan so those 3 steps have never let me down and I'm glad to share them with you all !

Products worth the price #1

Today I'm going to talk about products that are worth the price. This means that the price tag is (way) higher than drugstore products. As you guys know, us three at Monelle Beauty live in Australia, everything's here is more pricey than anywhere else in the world, so it might not go under the "expensive" range for you, where you live.

The Body Shop was kind of affordable for me in France but here it definitely cost a fair bit more. As well as Avène, french product so affordable in France, not that much affordable anywhere else. Chanel and Aesop are pretty much the same everywhere.

But you know what, when I like something and it's good for my skin/hair I'll pay the price. 

I'll start with Avène Cleanance Soapless Cleanser for oily, blemish prone skin. I have used that product since I was about 14yo, it's kind of a basic in France. Again, I have been blessed by not having Acne when I was a teenager but had breakouts here and there. 

The fresh/clean smell is lovely, It's a gel texture which I really like. It has helped my skin a lot but I believe in changing my cleanser from time to time so my skin doesn't get too much used to it, that way it is still effective when I go back to it. 

For breakouts I have 2 products in my shower which are this one and Neutrogena Oil-free Acne wash or Neutrogena Deep Clean. It works so good for me and I know my partner uses them as well and he's happy with it. Or maybe he just says that so I stop buying/talking about beauty products.

Australia retail price is around $28/30 in France it goes for €8 (AU$12), that is the reason why I have chosen to put Avène in that post.

I will keep buying it even for $30, it is definitely worth it and something to try if you have Acne/blemish problems.

I know that you're supposed to throw out your makeup after a while but that guy has been discontinued I believe so I'll use it till it dies. 

It's so amazing how long it lasted, that Nature's Minerals Cheek Colour is like Mary Poppins bag. I have been using it regularly for years and it doesn't seems to end. I'm not going to tell you for how long I have been applying this on my cheeks cause you're going to think I'm crazy but when I say years I mean yeeeeaaaarrrssss. I love it so much, you only need a little as it's almost like pigments, it lasts all day long and looks wonderful. I couldn't find it for sale on the internet but it might still be available in store. Please leave a comment below if you've seen it recently !

It goes for about AU$30 on Ebay. 

To be honest I have no problems spending a lot of money on stuff that I put on my skin. My skin is so sensitive that I'm really careful with what I use and I'm happy to spend my money for a very good foundation. I love Chanel Vitalumière Aqua, it has a great smell and an amazing consistency. The formula really leaves your skin feeling like you're not wearing anything.

Everytime I wear this foundation I get so many compliments! 

You really need to take your time choosing the right colour for you, a Chanel assistant helped me and gave me a wrong colour so I only wear it in summer or for a night out when it's dark and no one can see the difference haha. 

I'll repurchase it, it's a really nice high end foundation. It's always good to have at least one high end foundation that you can be excited to wear and have in your collection. 

In australia Chanel Vitalumière Aqua goes for AU$88

I will finish with my favorite of them all. It's painful to spend $30 dollars in a small bottle of shampoo but I would actually spend so much more on that. It does wonders for my hair. I have very dry hair, I have been using dye since forever and it's very damaged. I have decided to stop using supermarket/drugstore shampoos, it's so crap for your hair and since I'm treating my hair with some nice products, it drastically changed....
The Aesop Nurturing shampoo is a miracle. I have been combining it with a Sukin conditioner and it has gone back to my natural hair, soft, shiny and not damaged anymore.

It doesn't foam which is good, it means there's less harmful stuff in it ! And it cleans your hair as much as a foamy shampoo from the supermarket does, without wrecking it.

It's so worth the price. I mean you're going to spend a crazy amount of money on trying shampoos, conditioners, masks, treatments, oils etc when you only need a GOOD shampoo and conditioner.

If you have a boyfriend, husband, roommates, just make things clear from the beginning : "if you touch that bottle you will regret it", my partner doesn't even look at it. No sharing with $30 mini shampoos.

Get on that, it's amazing.
