I love Aesop. Not only was this skin and haircare brand created in Melbourne it is still manufactured right here in Australia as well. Anything made in Australia I love and prefer to buy and the great thing about Aesop is their products are amazing.
I recently purchased their Control gel when I was in Sydney visiting friends and family. Sydney is a lot more humid than Melbourne and my skin broke out horribly (I also forgot to pack my face cleanser and glamglow which didn’t help) So as I was doing some shopping I decided to pick it up from an Aesop stall in David Jones and give it a go because I have actually been wanting to try this product for a while.
Aesop is definitely known for the distinct scents their products have and every time I use this product I cant get over how lovely it smells. It’s like a combination of tea tree oil and various herbs like sage, rosemary and ginger that you will notice are listed as ingredients. They all just morph together into this amazing aroma I can’t get over.
The control gel contains sodium ascorbyl phosphate which is a form of Vitamin c that also functions as an anti-oxidant and salicylic acid which is used to fight against blemishes.
It is best to apply this product on after cleansing the face so there is nothing but clean skin the gel can absorb into. Basically you just transfer a bit to clean hands and apply on to any blemishes on the skin. You will notice a slight tingling affect one applied but that soon disappears.
I noticed the next day when I woke up my blemishes from my breakout had diminished in size which I was quite impressed by. My break out also contained very deep under the skin blemishes that didn’t seem to really notice I put the gel on my skin. I had to give it a few days to start noticing they were starting to go down in size.
This product is great but if you’re expecting results very fast, it takes time for it to sink into the blemish and make it go away so I highly recommend it for smaller blemishes that appear on the skin if you are looking for something that will work efficiently plus it smells incredible!
